Good Morning Parents,

This is a friendly reminder that Pre-Season practices for team start TOMORROW (Monday, May 20th). The pre-season practices are as follows: 

8 & Under - 4:15-5:00 p.m. 

9-10 Yr. Olds - 5:00-6:00 p.m. 

11 & Up - 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. 

The coaches are excited to meet you! Please bring a warm towel or two, warm clothing, goggles, pool shoes and tennis shoes. Depending on the weather, the coaches may choose to do a little dryland on the first day.

We want to welcome back Elliott Whelan who will be our morning assistant coach once regular season starts. He just finished his first year at Virginia Tech and we are thrilled he is back this summer! We also want to welcome Ashley Cryer who will be our assistant coach in the afternoons. Ashley swam on the Avalon swim team since she was a young girl. She has also been a lessons instructor for the last few years and just finished her first year at the University of Virginia. Welcome Ashley!

If you chose to pay by check for swim team, your payments are due now. Please bring your checks to practice. You can either hand them to Clair or myself OR you can put them in the green box labeled "Swim Team Payments" that is located on the bookshelf that is just to the left of the door. If you ordered a non-personalized cap, please make sure that payment is included in your check. You can also mail your payments to: 510 Heathfield Rd., Richmond, VA 23229. Please mark on your check that it is your swim team payment.

Also, our first meet is right around the corner. Please go to our swim team website  https://avalongators.swimtopia.com/ and declare whether you will be there or not. On the bottom you will see a section that says "NEXT MEET", click on "Meet Entry" and the name of your children will pop up, click on "Edit" and you will see a pull down bar for each of your kids, please select either "Not Attending this Meet" or "Attending this Meet". You will have to do this for every meet this summer. If you already know your availability for the meets, you can click on "View All" on the bottom right hand corner and you can declare you intentions for all of the meets. 

The Parent Reps will hold a brief parent meeting on Thursday, May 30th at 5 p.m. in the baby pool area. This meeting will be right before our first meet and is intended for those who are new or fairly new to swim team, but everyone is welcome. We will go over what to expect at your first meet as well as other topics related to swim team. 

The Virginia Swim Shop has rescheduled our swim suit fittings for Tuesday, May 28th from 4-6 p.m. If you cannot make that date, please visit them at their shop that is located inside NOVA Regency. 

If you know of anyone who has yet to register, please encourage them to register ASAP so that we have an accurate roster as we start our season.
