2025 Update!

Hi Gators!
We are excited for the 2025 swim season to begin in just a few short months and we hope that you are too!
While we are dreaming of sunny, warmer days, we wanted to send out some information:
Welcome, Head Coach Heath!
Heath was born in Newport News and grew up in Gloucester County, VA. As a boy his summers alternated between sailing in the Ware River and swimming in the GPSA summer league. After seeing the very inspiring 2008 Beijing summer Olympics he took up swimming year-round in high school. He has been coaching swimmers since 2014. He coached as an assistant at Avalon in the 2023 and 2024 seasons and is very excited to take the head position in the 2025 season. Go Gators!

Mark your calendars:
Please join us at our Avalon Open House on May 4th to meet the coaches and learn more about our season. If you need to be sized for a new suit, Virginia Swim Shop will be there to help us with fittings. Team suits, caps (personalized & non-personalized) and other swim necessities will be available for purchase.
New Swimmer Evaluations will be held on Saturday, May 10th at NOVA Regency at 2:30 p.m. Sign Ups will be sent out in April.
For the safety of your kids, if your swimmer is 8 & under and has never participated in a formal swim team, summer or year around, they will be asked to attend an evaluation session so that the coaches can properly place your child in the correct program (Team, Pre-Team or Lessons).
Pre-Season practice will begin on Monday, May 12th and practices for regular season will start on Monday, June 3rd. Practice times will be forthcoming.
Meets will be held on June 2nd, 9th,16th, 23th, 30th and July 7th.
Champs will be held on Wednesday, July 16th.
We are looking forward to a fun swim season! Be on the lookout for emails with information regarding registration in April.
