HERM vs. ARA Meet - Important Information PLEASE READ

    Good Afternoon Gator Families, 


    It's hard to believe, but we have finished our second week of practices and our first meet against Hermitage is right around the corner. This will be a home meet. Please read below for some important information regarding the first meet. 

    1. Please declare your intentions for the first meet by WEDNESDAY, JUNE 8th. Each child must declare whether or not you will be attending the meet. This will help the coaches know who is coming so they can properly seed the meet. You can do this by:

    • You will see your child(s) names and under the pull down bar your options will be "not attending this meet" or "attending this meet". Please choose one of these.

    2. Warm ups will begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 12th. The meet will start at 2 p.m. 

    3. The theme of the first meet will be Green Out. Please show your team spirit by dressing in green from head to toe. 

    4. JRAC Waivers - Each child must fill out a JRAC Waiver in order to swim in a meet. If you haven't already done so, please fill one out ASAP using this link:   https://jrac2016waiver.formstack.com/forms/2022wa...

    5. If you are new to Avalon but have swam on team at another JRAC club, please let me know which club you are coming from ASAP. We will need to know this information so that we can pull your prior times and inform JRAC of the change of clubs. 

    6. The weather can be pretty unpredictable during the summer months. If there are practice or meet changes due to weather, we will communicating it via Rained Out. If you haven't already done so, you can sign up by texting 84483 and in the text box type in ARAGATOR and it should sign you up. 

    7. If you need a team suit before the meet, they can be purchased at the Virginia Swim Shop which is located at NOVA Regency. They are open from 12-7 Monday-Thursday. 

    8. Avalon swim caps will be available for sale at the meet for $10. If you have purchased one online but haven't received it yet, please go and find Carrie Banks at the meet or at practice this week. 

    9. We will be sending out a couple of sign-ups this week. We will be holding a Bake Sale during the meet on Sunday. A sign-up will be going out shortly. Gator Buddies are also coming back this year. Please sign-up if you would like to participate. Finally, the coaches hold a fun Popsicle Practice the day after a meet. Sign-ups to donate popsicles will also go out this week. 

    10. Lastly, we will be holding a parent meeting this Wednesday at 5 p.m. The parent reps and coach will be there to answer any questions you might have about swim team.
