Glen Allen Gliders MEET INFORMATION

Welcome Gators!!
We look forward to hosting Avalon on Sunday at 2:30 at our pool! I have my fingers crossed for great weather. Below is some information that may be helpful.

Parking
We have a parking lot in the front and on the side of our building. Please do not park in the handful of spots that have been reserved for your coaches. We ask that you do not park on Brookley Rd. and please be considerate of our neighbors on Thornbury Street by not blocking their driveways.
Seating
Seating
We will have some chairs set up on the pool deck for seating, however, we recommend that families bring chairs. We have two sections that are reserved for Avalon families: 1. The area on your left as you enter our pool extending back to the pavilion. 2. The area on your right that faces the end of the pool. We ask that spectators keep the walkways clear to ensure that the runners can make their way quickly around the perimeter of the pool. We also ask that the walkways to the doors of the building remain clear. There is not room on the deck to set up tents or umbrellas, but there is room in the area that we suggest for setting up your Mites (see below). We have a small grassy area that you may use for tents if space is available.
Warm-Ups
Your warm-up time is 2:00 p.m. - 2:15 p.m.
Glider Grill
We will have the "Glider Grill" open serving Hamburgers, Cheeseburgers, Grilled Boneless Chicken Breast, Pasta Salad, Beans, Pickles, Chips, Sodas, water and Gatorade. We will also have baked goods available for purchase. The food is good and priced reasonably.
Inclement Weather

Our pool is managed by Virginia Swim Club Management. In the event of lightening we must clear the pool deck for 30 minutes after each occurrence. The meet is also delayed for 30 minutes following each clap of thunder, but we are allowed to remain on deck as long as there is no lightning. Your swimmers/families will have the option of waiting in the Community Center or waiting in their cars. Hopefully we won't have to deal with a weather delay. Our goal is to complete the meet on Sunday!
Mites
Mites
We have a large blacktop area behind the Clerk of Course. Visiting teams like to set their mites up there because it is so close to the Clerk. That is fine as long as the kids stay out of the sand volleyball/dodgeball court. We will have that area roped off with caution tape. Please make sure your swimmers know to stay out of the sand. There is room for tents and umbrellas to be set up.
