Our First Home Meet
June 22nd
Monday is the mid-point of the season and our 1st home meet. Let's show CCV our great Avalon hospitality as well as some awesome swimming.
Our Gator banner is almost finished and is looking spectacular. If you haven't shown your team spirit, please see Mrs. Moore at practice on Monday morning or Tuesday afternoon.
A few highlights about home meets:
- Volunteer Check in will be near the steps to the top pool. Please check in when you arrive.
- Meet cards will be up near the gate as well.
- Clerk of Course table has moved but only a little - it will be outside the baby pool gates. This is where the swim cards will be dropped off. We will have a white board telling you the number of the event for which we are calling for cards.
- The white board will also tell you the number of the event that is being seated inside the pool.
- The Clerk of Course seating area in the baby pool is a one way system. Once your swimmer's event has been called, they will go in by the trophy case & stay until their race. They will sit on benches until they come out near the blocks in preparation for their race. Our volunteers make sure that the swimmers get to where they need to be & the coaches will remind them of their event.
- CAPS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE MEET. $8 for a latex, $10 for a silicone.
For those of you who are new to Avalon meets:
- Avalon sits on the right hand side of the pool & under the pavilion. Everyone is welcome to spread out around the top pool, just make sure that you bring bug spray if you are going to sit in the grass.
- Chairs are recommended. We will have some but they tend to fill up fast.
- If you have a mite, please check in with the mite mom. She will be seated near the pavilion.
- We will have the grill going. We offer hot dogs, burgers & veggie burgers for purchase.
