JRAC Champs Qaulification Clarification
Good morning,
I just want to clarify how qualification for champs works. Any swimmer whom is XX, X, or R is qualified for champs. Not all Novice swimmers are qualified for champs. Novice swimmers whom are QUA means you have qualified for champs. Depending on the event and distance champs qualifying can be a R time or a Novie QUA time. I know this is all confusing and it gets even more so as we start seeding for champs. So just know if your child is XX, X, R, or QUA he/she has qualified for champs and we may need he/she seeded in champs and we won't know until we start seeding this morning.
In champs every event is swam except 100 I.M. Novice. Each event and speed category can only have 2 swimmers from each team. This is what makes it so hard to seed for champs. However, each event and speed category can have alternates so there is a chance the alternates may swim either in an individual event or relay events.
All this being said, I know it is confusing, and believe me we as coaches have to deal with doing our best to put as many swimmers as possible in JRAC Champs, so please RSVP for us as soon as you can to let us know if your child/children will be available, if needed, to swim in champs.
Thanks,
The Coaches
