U of R Swim Clinic-Coach Matt Barany

Swim clinics have been posted for the fall and winter. I just want to share Coach Matt Barany's e-mail to me for his clinics starting in the fall. If it is this clinic or an Endorphin clinic, or an evaluation from one of the other year round programs it is a great idea to stay in the water as much as possible especially if it is a sport you like and want to continue to do and get better at doing.

    From Coach Barany:

    Hi:

As your swimmers wrap up their summer season at the pool, consider joining us for our 12-week swim clinic this fall. I have attached a brief information flyer. More notable points:

    • We will cover the four competitive strokes with a healthy dose of diving with 3-4 coaches. We will focus on technique and not aerobic endurance.
    • These clinics are ideal for summer swimmers looking to stay fresh through the fall & winter.
    • We are permitted to coach/teach 6-year-olds; insurance says we can’t go younger. The 3:00 pm session is the only session for these youngers. Please ensure they have mastered a minimum of 25 yards freestyle without stopping before you register them. These clinics are very poor substitutes for swim lessons.
    • The 3:00 pm and 4:00 pm sessions include a group of 10-12 year olds coached by me. These two groups get a good deal of attention. If you have a 12-year-old and you are trying to decide between the earlier sessions versus the 5:00 pm session, the 5:00 session is more strenuous and advanced. The 5:00 session moves quickly and has quite a few year-round swimmers.

You may register here. We will not share this link publically until July 24, so grab your spot before we launch! Feel free to share this with your team and friends.

If you have questions, please email me.

    Much thanks,
    Matt
