Here We Go Gators!
Hello Gator Swimmers and Parents!
We've finally reached the start of the 2017 summer swim season. Myself and the rest of the coaches are looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces tomorrow, Monday May 22nd, for our first practice of the season! Just a few notes for the first week:
-We will be doing a combination of dryland exercises and swimming during practice this week. Please make sure kids have towels with them when they are dropped off for practice to use for dryland on the deck. Coaches will assess the pool temperature and plan practices accordingly. We don't want to freeze any of our little gator tails off!
-We will be conducting swim tests to determine skill levels and needs of our younger swimmers. All mites will need to be able to complete at least length of the pool unassisted. Mini mites will need to demonstrate an ability to make forward progress across pool somewhat unassisted.
-It's looking like we could be dealing with some weather during practice, especially during the beginning of the week. Unless there is lightning in the area we will plan on still having practice under the pavilion- doing dryland exercises and some games. If you have not already, please sign up for the RainedOut text notifications, as we will be using it to communicate in case of inclement weather, etc.
-Please refer to the email that was sent out on Friday: it had some great information including the link to sign up for RainedOut, Registration/Payments, and JRAC waivers, etc.
If you have any questions, please feel free to email me.
Hope to see you all tomorrow!
Coach Katie
