Dunk Hunger- bring canned goods to the pool at home meets
2017 Battle of the Swim Team & Pool Clubs, sponsored by Richmond Family Magazine and the Virginia Swim Shop, is a food drive benefiting FeedMore’s Central VA Food Bank! Community partners, participating pools, and families have contributed close to 215,000 meals since Dunk Hunger made its first splash.
The swim team or pool club that collects the largest overall donation by August 31st will receive a $1,000 cash prize!!! Avalon claimed the Gold Medal last summer thanks to our caring families!
We encourage all families and businesses to participate by bringing in food every time you visit the pool and/or donate funds online at www.feedmore.org/dunkhunger . Every $1.00 = 5 pounds of food. Look for the green plastic container with the “Dunk Hunger” sign at our home swim meets, and special events. If bins are usually located upstairs above the office at Avalon too.
If you have any questions please contact Jennifer Cooper [email protected]
Food Needed: canned meat & fish, canned fruits & low sodium vegetables, peanut butter, hot & cold cereal, pasta & rice, canned or dry beans, whole grain snacks, tomato products (no glass)
