GATOR NEWSLETTER: WEEK 6

    HAPPY WEEK 6!

    Hi everyone!

I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! I just got back from the beach, so tonight will be another night of late emails :) I only have a few highlights for my weekly update, so I’ll keep this short and sweet.

We have our 3rd swim meet tomorrow night against Kanawha. This swim meet is an AWAY meet. Please be sure to read Patty Chang’s emails with reminders and updates for the meet. The meet theme is green-out/gator theme.

Entries for tomorrow’s meet will come out within the next hour. I need to finalize a few changes I have received in the past couple days. After the entries are out, feel free to text/email me with any questions. Please trust that we put your swimmers in events that we know they will do well in. We’ve watched and coached their swimming for several weeks now, and we have a very good idea of what it will take to beat Kanawha. So unless your swimmer is absolutely NOT willing to swim, please encourage them to be open to new events and challenges for this meet. This meet will require a team effort of spirit and fast racing. We want everyone to have fun, but we also would love to see our Gators take home their first win of the season!

We will have fun practice on Tuesday. Fun practice will include a sweet treat, ribbon ceremony, and other awards. We hope to see everyone there!

Our 4th swim meet will be on July 6th against Glen Allen. This is an away meet. Just a reminder to declare for the meet by Thursday, July 1st at 7 pm. Please RSVP ASAP to this swim meet.

With this upcoming weekend being the 4th of July, I am canceling Friday afternoon practice. We will still hold morning practice on Friday. Practice will resume on the following Monday to prepare for next Tuesday’s swim meet.

That’s all I have for right now! Stay tuned for the entries list. As we approach the middle of the season, I just want to let you all know how unbelievably proud we are of each and every swimmer. I speak on behalf of all of the coaches when I say that we’re really lucky to coach these kids. I’m having an absolute blast this summer with the Avalon team, and we really hope the swimmers are too :) We’ll see you all this week!

    Thanks,

    Coach Leslie and Coach Wil
