Safety and Service
Good morning. Parents and swimmers is was so much fun having our first intersquad meet on Monday and Tuesday. The kids really seemed to enjoy themselves and the parents as well getting home at a decent hour. I wanted to let you know that I opened up sign ups for our next intersquad meet on the 13th. I would like to try to do it all in one night if possible.
For this meet, I would like to challenge the two squads to the idea of service to the community. I would like each swimmer to bring in a non perishable food item to be donated to the community food bank. As you know these food banks are so critical right now during this crisis. I look at the Avalon community as very fortunate and caring in their nature so if everyone could participate I would greatly appreciate it.
Over the next week or so we will create containers for the non perishable food items to go in once the donations come in. I will send a list of all the swimmers assigned to a particular colored squad so that you know what colored box to put the items in. I am going to make this a fun competition among the squads. Again, I hope that everyone will try to donate at least one item to the box. Lets show the community how generous we are as a team. Thank you so much!
