Social Distancing and Safety at Swim Team Practice

    • Parents – please have a conversation prior to the first practice with your child about maintaining social distance and being respectful while at the pool.
    • Swimmers need to follow all directions given by the coaches for social distancing, cleanliness and flow of traffic.
    • Swimmers will enter the pool through the main entrance/gate and will exit through the gate near the swim blocks/tennis office.
    • Every participant will need to answer 3 COVID-19 screening questions prior to entering the pool gate. Parents will need to answer for younger children (10 and under).
    • “No one with a fever or symptoms of COVID-19, or known exposure to a COVID-19 case in the prior 14 days, is permitted to attend swim team.” CDC guidelines
    • We are asking for all parents to stay outside of the pool area (behind the fence) during practice to comply with the Virginia Phase II Guidelines of three persons per lane. Lawn chairs are welcome outside the fence, or you can stay in your car.
    • 3 swimmers per lane with tape markings on the deck (10 feet apart) to show where swimmers should stand when waiting in line.
    • All swimmers will need to exit the pool deck as soon as practice is finished.
    • Restrooms are for emergency use only and 1 swimmer will be permitted at a time! Please encourage your swimmer to use the restroom before leaving for practice.
    • Swimmers need to come ready for practice – goggles, cap, kick board (if you have one), towel and water bottle. Young swimmers should have their cap and goggles on before they enter the gate, coaches are not able to help put on goggles or caps.

We truly appreciate everyone helping us adhere to these guidelines and making swim team as safe as possible.

We look forward to seeing you all at swim team next week! It is going to be an unforgettable season and we plan to make it as fun as possible and continue to grow your children’s love of swimming this summer.
