Meet #4 ARA @ CCV Entries and Info
Hey Gators,
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Entries for the meet are attached, and below you will find some important information. Please read all the way through.
Tomorrow we travel to CCV for the 4th meet of the season. Please arrive by 5:30 at the latest. Go directly to swimmer check in when you arrive. Warm ups will be 6-6:15. If your RSVP changes, or you know you will be late arriving and have not informed me yet, please let me know ASAP. The heat index tomorrow is an astronomical 108. STAY HYDRATED. Please make sure your swimmers are eating and drinking properly prior to the meet. Stay inside and and lay low tomorrow as well- great day to work on some summer reading inside! Also please send a water bottle with your swimmers to practice from now on, if you have not done so already. We take frequent water breaks, but its good for them to have easy access to hydrate during practice.
We are now well into the second half of the season, with our vision and planning focused on champs. We start paying closer attention to who has swam what events so far to make sure everyone swims every event at least once in prep for qualifying for champs. Events that are not swum during the regular season cannot be swum at champs. Due to this, some kids who have previously been in 3 events consistently, might not be due to us needing to get other kids in these events. With the limitations set by the league, it makes it difficult for us to accommodate everyone's wishes.
Another note on entries: Some may see that they are an exhibition swimmer in 25/50 R Free. This means they will swim the event, but they will not be able to score points. Usually we are only allowed to have 3 regular swimmers per event. We are also allowed an additional 3 exhibition regular swimmers in free, where we have an overflow of Regular swimmers. This gives swimmers an extra swim where they otherwise would be left out. The exhibition swims are for 25/50 R free only. While this makes seeding hard, its great to have surplus of swimmers who are dropping time and moving up speed categories! Good job Gators!
As always, if you have any questions please let me know. There are 193 kids on our roster, and every meet we have over 300 entries. I have only one set of eyes so even if I go over them a dozen times, I'm not perfect and may miss a mistake. If I don't know a mistake/concern/question of yours exists I cannot address it/fix it. Below you will find some notes from CCV.
Parking: In general, parking is limited – please have your families carpool if possible! All parking for the meet will be directed to the lower lot, located at the west end of the aquatics complex. Spillover traffic will be directed by security guards as needed. Parking is strictly prohibited on St. Andrew’s Lane, just to the north of the main clubhouse, out of courtesy to our neighbors. It is best to enter CCV's main entrance off Three Chopt Road and proceed to the first left turn – you will pass the pools on your right and then reach the parking area.
Seating: The visiting team side of the 8-lane pool deck is the north side, and there will be ample bleacher seating for watching the meet. There is also plenty of room for your families (bags, coolers, and all your team’s gear) on the left side of the Zero-Entry Family Pool, straight ahead upon entering the Gatehouse. Please note that this pool is entirely closed for the meet’s duration – it is impossible to safely accommodate children from both teams, and we ask that you inform your families that there will be no recreational use of this pool.
Food: The Poolside Café will be open until 9:00 p.m. Please be advised that the Café only accepts cash.
Thank you, and see you tomorrow.
STAY COOL!!!!!
Coach K
