Overall I am so proud of the Gators and our showing at the first meet. While losing by 500 points seems like a big loss (especially after a winning season last year), against a formidable and large opponent like Southampton myself and the other coaches do not see it that way. To have the returning numbers we did for night 2 was incredible. We had some amazing time drops, and clearly had a lot of kids ready to race by the number we had move up in speed categories. Looking at our DQs most are little things that can be fixed with repetition and are things to be expected in the first meet of the season. I think we are in great shape for the beginning of the season. We didn’t have a single relay DQ! Attached you will find the complete meet results.

The novice stroke of the week is Breaststroke. Because we have already lost 2 days of practice, please try to make it to every practice possible this week. We will start our Saturday clinic practices this Saturday, June 15th from 8-9am and will be focusing on breaststroke the whole time. We will have a modified skittles practice today, focusing on breaststroke.

Thanks again for a great first meet. See you on deck.
